It snowed!!

We got our first BIG snow storm! This is the first one we have seen up here in ND.

Last year it hardly snowed at all!

We ended up getting a little over a foot.

The kids loved it, and so did the dog!

I would have enjoyed it more if nick was home.

He was stuck up by Ray in his Halliburton truck. He was stuck for about 5 days!

It was wild! :)

Blaine had a sleep over Friday night, that is another story all in its own.

BOYS ARE WILD!

He would have stayed outside and played all day. But, since it was like -5 out,

I didn't let him stay to long!

 

Roxie did one snow angel and then went back inside.

It was too cold for her!

 This is me.. In nicks camo coveralls. the snow was up past my knees in some places.

 

We made frozen water balloons and put them on the porch.

I gave in and let the dog inside to sleep.

He was very happy!

I have a feeling this winter is going to be a cold one..

To that I say, BRING IT ON!!!!!!!

The one about my dad...

First off.. I want to tell you joke..

ME: Ol' Ricky went to go cut down a big ol tree..

He cut down this big tree and a branch flew and knocked him on his ass!

YOU: Oh, you mean rectum?

ME: Wrecked him hell, Damn near killed him!

(that ones for my G-ma Shirley)

 

Now I want to tell you a story..

My dad (Ol' Ricky), went to cut down a big ol tree..

After an hour or two, he woke up. With a hole in his head and a running chainsaw on his tummy.

After driving himself to the hospital,

 (could you imagine pulling up next to a guy with blood all over his face..)

We found out that he had wrecked him pretty good.

Hell, damn near killed him!

 



 

 

Turns out he had a major concussion, a big gash to his head, 

short term memory loss and a realllllllly sore body!

Thank Heavens!

 

When this all went down I had 5 men at my house for dinner.

My sister called me and said dad is hurt really bad.

I started to cry, and the men looked at me really funny.

Its times like these I realize it is not so fun to live sooo far away.. 

I sure am glad that he is ok!

He is still in recovery mode.. but will survive.

 

I love my dad. 

 He was my buddy growing up. And I was his.

(I'm  83% sure I am still his favorite..

Melissa is really trying to take my place now that I moved..)

He taught me to love nature and all things outdoors.

He took me hunting and fishing..

My mom and sister would go shopping and

 me and dad would hang out at the pool.

I probably should have been a boy.. I kinda acted like one.

He made me learn all the trees and all the bushes.

He is mostly full or crap, but usually knows it all.

I love him and am glad he is still kickin! :)

The one about boys.....

Boys will be boys..

I didn't know much about boys, It was only me and my sister growing up.

Boys are stinky.. wild.. sweet..  super hero's..  picker on'ers.. demolition on two legs..

The list could go on and on..

This would be why ever since we built our snowman Blaine has wanted to  destroy it!

So, today I gave in and let him have his way with the poor pirate.

(It was already melting although I am not sure how it melts when it is 30 degrees out?!)

Here is the wrecker in action. And yes, it was just as fun as he imagined!!

Boys.. I don't think I will ever truly understand their little brains! :)

But, I sure do love this walking disaster!

SNOW!! REAL SNOW!!!!

We got our first snow of the year! Last year we really didnt get snow, snow.. We got little frozen balls of snow.  We were all pretty excited for some real good snow!!

We got about 2 inches in total.

 

Of course we had to play in it!!

We all got bundled up and headed out!

 

 

A snowman, we had to build a snowman!

 

 

Roxie had no gloves so she mostly just watched us do work!

 

 She kept going over and eating the snow off the pipes coming out of the ground.

Silly girl!

 

A pirate snowman is what we ended up with. I didnt have a carrot, so we used our jack o lantern face for a snowman face!!

Nick gave him some arms stickin out and his hat is one of those black plastic planter things that flowers come in.

After we built the snowman we had a big snowball fight and ran inside to get warm..

Ninja and Cat style..

We had a great Halloween this year! Nick was on his week off so we all got to celebrate together!

Blaine was a ninja, Roxie was a kitty cat..

I took some treats to Blaine's class party. Me and Roxie made some eyeballs on a fork.

Most of the kids wouldn't eat them..

 

 Then we went trick or treating. The kids both fell asleep before we even go to the houses.. SO we made the loop and let them sleep!

 

 

Nick took the kids door to door while I followed behind in the car!

It was really cold!

Happy Halloween. I am so glad its over, I am not a big fan of Halloween, but the kids love it!
